Our passion and principal business is video story telling.
As team leader Ed helps prospective clients define their goals and finalize creative ideas. Ed takes an active role in every aspect of production including concept development, shooting, field directing, writing and editing. Ed’s story telling skills were tempered in the deadline driven environment of large market television newsrooms and refined as the producer of many current affairs specials. He is still an active freelance broadcaster and journalist who is also under contract with CTV News.
Watson Media Ltd contracts with professional camera operators, producers and editors for specific projects. Most of the individuals working with our company have many years experience in the broadcasting and production industry.
We provide location directors, field producers or fixers for any documentary or television news production. We can also help you find the right technical personnel for your BC production.
Watson Media Ltd rents out our kit of production equipment suitable for EFP or ENG style productions. We use a Sony XDCAM EX-3 with interchangeable lenses for broadcast quality HD productions and a Sony V1U HDV camera when a smaller lighter camera is needed.
By drawing on our Vancouver associates resources we can manage productions with multiple cameras and crews shot to the standards required by network television.
As a former reporter Ed Watson is in a unique position to analyze media relations. He has developed a “Media 101″ course for politicians, executives and other individuals new to the field of media relations. The course consists of modules that can be altered for different clients. For people already in the communications field, Ed conducts on camera performance training and event rehearsals. Watson Media Ltd also provides performance coaching and story telling seminars for individuals working in television newsrooms.
